Creating Standards-Based Classrooms through the Adapting the Curriculum Frameworks for All Learners Graduate Certificate Program

"I am proud and pleased to be involved with this process. I have been challenged and moved..." - Adapting the Curriculum Frameworks student

CSDE developed the Adapting Curriculum Frameworks for All Learners Graduate Certificate Program to provide teachers and other school leadership team members with a working knowledge of practical applications of the principles and elements of Educational Reform to the instruction of a diverse population. Recently, the content of the graduate certificate program has deepened to incorporate more sophisticated instructional practices, particularly in technology and assessment, to lead educators through the increasing requirements of the education reform movement, including the most recent No Child Left Behind legislation.

"The three of us who are taking the courses sit together in the lunch room and talk about what we’ve learned—other teachers want to know what we’re doing, and I constantly use the ideas in my classroom. I’m learning to think differently about how I teach."

This program is designed to support K-12 educators as they continue to develop a standards-based approach to the instruction of a diverse population. The certificate combines current research, policy, and instructional practices presented by faculty who are actively involved in changing the public school environment in Massachusetts.
